SRM Concrete has acquired Young Trucking, the largest bulk cement transporter in southwest Florida. The transaction is the second in cement distribution for SRM Concrete, which in March acquired Pyles Transport of Tennessee. The Young fleet is positioned to supply 10 SRM Concrete ready mixed plants serving Gulf Coast markets from Port Charlotte to Fort Myers to Marco Island—six of them acquired this spring from Argos USA and Environmental Concrete & Materials.
“We are excited to bring the Young Trucking team on board,” says SRM CEO Jeff Hollingshead. “SRM’s service capacity has grown tremendously in the southwest Florida market in the last six months, and we believe Young’s material distribution network will help us continue to service our customers.”
